Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What is the max loading capacity of this ring? Is it safe?
A: A qualified wooden ring, when paired with a widened strap, can generally support a static load of over 500kg, which is sufficient to support the weight of most adults and their training movements. However, the prerequisite is that the installation fixation points (such as a single bar, ceiling bracket) must be firmly and reliably fixed, and the max loading capacity of the fixation points is the key to safety.
Q: What should be noted during installation?
A: Preferred fixation points: Use professional indoor bars, pull-up bars, or ceiling expansion screw brackets with a load-bearing capacity of ≥ 3 times your own weight. Do not hang on unstable or unidentified load-bearing objects.
Adjusting the straps: Adjust the lengths of the two straps to be the same to ensure the ring is horizontal; use the adjustment buckles on the straps to fix them, and pass the excess straps through the buckles to prevent loosening.
Height setting: For beginners, it is recommended to lower the height of the ring so that the feet can touch the ground easily, facilitating protection and assisting in movements.
Q: Will the ring rotate? How to prevent the strap from twisting?
A: The wooden gymnastic ring will naturally rotate during use, which is a normal phenomenon. This is also the reason why gymnastic training with the ring can exercise the stabilizing muscles of the rotator cuff.
Q: Can beginners directly use the ring for training? What recommended movements?
A: Yes, but it is not recommended to directly attempt high-difficulty movements. For beginners, it is recommended to start with these basic movements:
Dead hang (suspended): Exercises grip strength and basic shoulder and back foundation, improving joint mobility.
Ring pull-ups (assisted / standard): Compared to fixed bars, ring pull-ups have higher requirements for core and rotator cuff stability.
Ring push-ups: The ring can slightly shake, increasing the participation of the core and rotator cuff.
Static support (such as horizontal support, L support): Strengthening core and shoulder strap stability.
Q: Do wooden rings need maintenance? How to prevent cracking?
A: Wooden gymnastic rings are afraid of drying and water. Maintenance suggestions:
Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or near air conditioning / heating vents to prevent wood from losing moisture and cracking.
Use a dry cloth to wipe surface dirt. Do not wash or soak.
Regularly use a small amount of wood wax oil to wipe to protect the wood and extend the service life.
Q: Are the straps and buckles durable? Will they break?
A: Regular nylon straps and metal adjustment buckles are very durable under normal use, without cuts or wear. However, regular checks are needed:
Check for wear, fraying, or cuts on the straps.
Check if the adjustment buckles are deformed or loose.
If any of these occur, stop using immediately and replace the accessories.
Q: Can they be used outdoors for a long time?
A: It is not recommended to use them outdoors for a long time. Rain, humidity will cause the wood to get damp and mold, and direct sunlight will cause the straps to age and become brittle, and the wood to crack. After outdoor training, promptly dry the ring and store it in a cool and dry indoor place.
